XEI Scientific, Inc. today announced that the company has entered a new chapter under the ownership of Christopher Booth and Michal Rabara. The transition preserves XEI’s strong technical foundation and customer-focused culture while setting the stage for accelerated research, expanded support, and continued investment in the Evactron® plasma cleaning platform.

Founded in 1991 by Ronald Vane to address hydrocarbon contamination in scanning electron microscopy, XEI Scientific went on to invent the Evactron® De-Contaminator — the first commercial in-situ plasma cleaner for electron microscope vacuum chambers. In 2026 the company marks both its 25th (Silver) anniversary and the sale of its 5,000th Evactron® unit.

Under the new ownership, XEI is committed to:
